June 2025 Visa Bulletin Insights: Modest Movement, But Act Now if You’re Eligible
The June 2025 Visa Bulletin is up, and it shows limited forward movement across most family- and employment-based categories. The most notable change is in the Employment-Based Second Preference (EB-2) category for All Chargeability Areas, Mexico, and the Philippines, which advanced by a few months.
Among family-based categories, the F2A category (Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents) remains the closest to becoming current. Under the Dates for Filing chart, the cutoff is now February 1, 2025, which is only about three months behind the present date. This means eligible applicants in this category should prepare their application packets early to file as soon as their priority date becomes current.
For those who qualify as immediate relatives of U.S. citizens (spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents of U.S. citizens over 21), it’s important to know that there is no annual cap for these petitions. If you have a qualifying family member, you should not delay filing your immigration benefit application. Processing times and policies can change unexpectedly, and starting the process early helps reduce risk and avoid future backlogs.
Outside of F2A and the EB-2 shift, most other preference categories, including F1, F3, F4, and EB-3 for India, show little to no movement and remain significantly backlogged.
